Cruising The Seas Close To Home - Part 2

....continued from Part 1

Meanwhile, families are deciding what to do first: play a round of mini-golf or have a splash-tastic time at Carnival WaterWorks. The waterpark is custom built especially for Australian cruisers and it’s got it all! From a water playground for the kids, complete with a giant bucket waterfall, to Carnival’s Twister Waterslide and a heart-racing thrill waterslide for the big people (and the brave little people).

Hungry? Head to the main dining room and choose between set dinner seating times or Your Time Dining and be seated whenever you like, with whoever you like. If you’re feeling formal, why not book a table at the Steakhouse? Or, for some nibbles, perhaps a soft-serve frozen yoghurt, a slice of pizza or a trip to our sushi bar?

Heading into the night, there’s comedy club, The Punchliner, and live performances in The Main Showlounge, as well as the Jazz Club, a Piano Bar, Casino and a kids club too. And if you feel like a dance, why not try out your moves in the Nightclub?

So much to list, so little time, so why not take the time and come discover Carnival Spirit? She’s awesome.

Based in Australia year-round and sailing out of Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle, Dawn Princess is a beloved visitor to ports around Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific and indeed, a number of destinations around the Pacific Ocean when she embarks on her annual Grand Pacific World Cruise. She is 77,000 tons and 261 metres in length, and can carry 1,990 passengers to ports near and far. Christened in 1997 by the original cast of The Love Boat, there is much to love about Dawn Princess.

When it comes to onboard dining, the options seem endless. Both Florentine and Venetian Dining rooms offer the traditional dining experience which so many enjoy while cruising. Being seated at the same table, at the same time each evening means passengers can better get to know their waitstaff. For a small cover fee, try the specialty Sterling Steakhouse, known for its premium cooked-to-order aged beef, along with other steakhouse favourites. For those wishing to maximise their pool time and minimize their meal time, there are a number of Casual Dining eateries including Horizon Court buffet, Sundaes ice cream bar, La Scala Pizzeria and Balcony Grill for burgers, hot dogs, kebabs and pies.

WCarnival Spirithat to do onboard your relaxing, rejuvenating retreat at sea? There’s the special Princess Cruises ScholarShips@Sea, meaning you can attend courses ranging from scrap booking and ceramics, to wine tasting and ship navigation. Make your way to Deck 15 and relax in The Sanctuary – an adult’s only haven where you can have a massage and sample specialty spa cuisine. There’s Movies Under the Stars for you to enjoy feature films, concerts and sporting events, poolside with a drink and complimentary bag of popcorn. Unwind in Lotus Spa, head to the Princess Theatre for any number of performances and enjoy tippling your way around the ship’s bars and lounges.
