Arrive at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg. If your cruise package includes a group arrival transfer or if you have arranged a private transfer, a Uniworld representative will greet you and take you to the ship.
Day 2: Breisach, France
Breisach serves as your gateway to the Alsatian wine route and the start of your exploration along the renowned Route des Vins, which meanders through the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. Enjoy a leisurely morning sailing the picturesque Upper Rhine to Breisach. This evening, you’ll be treated to a special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner.
Day 3: Kehl (Strasbourg), France
Explore Strasbourg on foot with a knowledgeable local guide. This historic town, with its charming cobbled streets, half-timbered houses, towering stork nests, and tempting pastry shops, is sure to captivate you. Kehl, directly across the river from Strasbourg, will serve as your base while you delve into the Alsatian capital. For those feeling adventurous, Uniworld provides bicycles and Nordic walking sticks to help you explore the riverbanks. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure, discovering more of Strasbourg on your own.
Day 4: Mannheim (Speyer), Germany
In Speyer, known as “spire” in English, the striking red towers of the Romanesque cathedral dominate the Old Town, creating a dramatic skyline.
Day 5: Rüdesheim to Boppard, Germany
Experience the legendary Rhine River in the towns of Rüdesheim and Boppard. Enjoy a private tasting of estate-grown Rieslings at Castle Vollrads, take a scenic stroll through Boppard, or hike through some of the most stunning landscapes along the Rhine. This morning, you’ll cruise from Rüdesheim into the enchanting and romantic Upper Middle Rhine Valley.
Day 6: Boppard to Koblenz, Germany
Discover Koblenz, a historic town with a rich past and diverse architecture. Visit the medieval Marksburg Castle and sail past Deutsches Eck (German Corner), where the historic monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I stands proudly.
Day 7: Cologne, Germany
History enthusiasts will appreciate a guided tour of Cologne’s Old Town, where three medieval gates and the Renaissance facade of the old city hall still stand. Wander through the charming city center, with its narrow alleys, historic houses, and numerous breweries. Enjoy ample free time to further explore Old Town on your own. In the evening, a special Captain’s Farewell Reception and Dinner will be held.
Day 8: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Disembark the ship. If your cruise package includes a group departure transfer or if you have arranged a private transfer, you will be taken to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for your flight home. Alternatively, you may extend your adventure with our optional post-cruise Amsterdam extension.
