Day 1: Porto
Arrive in Porto, the port city situated at the mouth of the Douro River.
Day 2: Regua, Pinhao
Immerse yourself in the world of wine, a tradition in the Douro River Valley dating back to Roman times. Start with a visit to the Douro Museum to learn about the history of Port wine. Choose from a selection of excursions, including a tasting at a prestigious Port wine estate or a vineyard hike with wine tasting at a local quinta.
In the evening, enjoy a special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner.
Day 3: Pinhao, Pocinho, Vega de Terron
Step back in time at Castelo Rodrigo, a hilltop castle and its surrounding village. Enjoy the stunning views and the charming village atmosphere. Alternatively, explore prehistoric carvings at an archaeological park with a hike.
Day 4: Vega de Terron (Salamanca), Barca d'Alva
Visit Salamanca, known as the “Golden City” for its sand-colored buildings and numerous churches. Experience the rich history of this university town. As your ship navigates the pristine, UNESCO-protected landscapes of the Douro River Valley, take in the dramatic scenery.
Day 5: Barca d'Alva, Regua
Discover Lamego, a special town at the gateway to the Douro Valley. Enjoy an evening Night Out with dinner at a local quinta.
Day 6: Regua, Porto (Braga)
Explore Braga, the oldest town in Portugal, where 2,000 years of history blend with contemporary culture.
Day 7: Porto
In Portugal’s second city, Porto, the namesake of the nation’s famed Port wine, you can choose to explore the city on foot or enjoy a panoramic drive. In the evening, attend a special Captain’s Farewell Reception and Dinner.
Day 8: Porto (Disembark), Transfer to Lisbon
Disembark the ship and transfer by motorcoach south through Portugal’s scenic countryside to Lisbon, where you will check into your hotel.
