Itinerary Details

Day 1: Bordeaux (Embark)
Arrive at Bordeaux-Mérignac International Airport. If your cruise package includes a group arrival transfer or if you have arranged a private transfer, a Uniworld representative will meet you and escort you to the ship.

Day 2: Cussac Fort Medoc 
Explore the renowned Médoc region, famous for its prestigious wine châteaux and endless vineyards. Take a scenic drive along the Médoc wine route and enjoy a wine tasting at a beautiful estate.

In the evening, attend a special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner.

Day 3: Cadillac 
Experience “la douceur de vivre” in Cadillac, known for its exquisite dessert wines. Visit Château Royal de Cazeneuve, where Henry IV and Queen Margot once spent time, and enjoy a glass of Sauternes with the owner.

Note: The sailing to Cadillac depends on the tides. If it's not feasible to sail, you'll be transferred to Cadillac via motorcoach.

Day 4: Blaye, Bourg sur Gironde 
Discover the stunning Route de la Corniche Fleurie, potentially the most picturesque road you've ever travelled, leading to the Blaye Fortress. Explore this UNESCO-designated citadel, which historically protected Bordeaux from sea attacks.

Day 5: Libourne (Saint-Émilion) 
From Libourne, visit the captivating medieval town of Saint-Émilion. Wander through its cobblestone streets lined with wine shops and bakeries, and admire the impressive rock-hewn church beneath the city’s streets.

Note: Lunch today is on your own. Ask your Cruise Manager for recommendations on the best nearby dining options.

Day 6: Libourne, Bordeaux 
Immerse yourself in the rich agricultural traditions of France with a visit to Libourne’s vibrant farmers’ market, where you can sample fresh vegetables, cheeses, breads, and fruits.

In the evening, enjoy a special Captain’s Farewell Reception and Dinner.

Day 7: Bordeaux
Explore the many charms of Bordeaux today, either on foot with a local expert or by bike, as the locals do. Choose from various active options to discover this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 8: Bordeaux (Disembark), Fly to Portugal, Porto (Embark) 
Disembark the ship and transfer to Bordeaux-Mérignac International Airport for your flight to Porto. Upon arrival, board the S.S. São Gabriel.

Day 9: Regua, Pinhao 
Delve into the wine culture of the Douro River Valley, where wine has been cultivated since Roman times. Visit the Douro Museum for an introduction to Port wine, then choose from a tasting at a prestigious estate or a vineyard hike with a wine tasting at a local quinta.

In the evening, attend a special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner.

Day 10: Pinhao, Pocinho, Vega de Terron 
Explore the medieval charm of Castelo Rodrigo, a hilltop village with breathtaking views. Alternatively, embark on a hike to see prehistoric carvings at an archaeological park.

Day 11: Vega de Terron (Salamanca), Barca d'Alva
Visit the historic university town of Salamanca, known as the “Golden City” for its sand-coloured buildings and numerous churches. Enjoy the pristine, dramatic landscapes of the Douro River Valley as your ship cruises through UNESCO-protected areas.

Day 12: Barca d'Alva, Regua 
Discover the unique town of Lamego, located at the gateway to the Douro Valley. Later, enjoy a Night Out with dinner at a local quinta.

Day 13: Regua, Porto (Braga) 
Explore Braga, the oldest town in Portugal, where 2,000 years of history blend with modern culture.

Day 14: Porto 
In Portugal’s second city, Porto—named for the country’s famous Port wine—choose to explore on foot or via a panoramic drive. In the evening, enjoy a special Captain’s Farewell Reception and Dinner.

Day 15: Porto (Disembark), Transfer to Lisbon 
Disembark the ship and board a motorcoach for a scenic journey through Portugal’s countryside to Lisbon, where you'll check into your hotel.

Day 16: Lisbon 
Explore Lisbon’s historic and vibrant neighbourhoods on a city tour, which includes a taste of the iconic local pastry.

Day 17: Lisbon 
Enjoy a full day to explore Lisbon at your own pace. The city offers remarkable museums, excellent shopping, and exceptional cuisine.

Day 18: Lisbon (Depart) 
If included in your cruise/tour package or arranged privately, transfer to Lisbon Portela Airport for your flight home.
