Itinerary Details

Day 1: Journey to Stratford-upon-Avon and York
Embark on a scenic journey through the verdant Warwickshire countryside to Stratford-upon-Avon, exploring the literary legacy of one of the world’s greatest playwrights. Visit Shakespeare's Birthplace and Visitor Center, as well as Anne Hathaway's cottage, before heading to York. Stroll along the charming cobbled streets of the Shambles and marvel at the impressive York Minster, one of the finest cathedrals globally. This evening, join your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a delightful Yorkshire dinner at your hotel.

Day 2: Through Northumberland to Edinburgh
Travel through the stunning landscapes of Northumberland National Park, stopping at the well-preserved ruins of the 12th-century Jedburgh Abbey on your way to the captivating Scottish capital, Edinburgh. If your departure aligns with performance dates, you’ll have tickets for the spectacular Edinburgh Tattoo.

Day 3: Explore Enchanting Edinburgh
Join your Local Specialist for a guided sightseeing tour of Edinburgh, featuring the elegant New Town, Princes Street, and the Royal Mile. Day 4: Into the Scottish Highlands
Cross the Firth of Forth to St. Andrews, where you'll explore the historic university and the rich heritage of golf. Continue to Pitlochry, nestled along the Tummel River. You may opt for a visit to Blair Castle, the ancestral home of the Dukes of Atholl, before heading into the breathtaking Scottish Highlands, where you’ll stay for two nights.

Day 5: Discover the Isle of Skye
This morning, drive to the rugged Scottish coast, passing the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle. Cross over to the Isle of Skye, where you can soak in the stunning scenery and enjoy free time for lunch. A Local Specialist will guide you to view the remarkable Cuillin Mountains before returning to the mainland, passing through the stunning lochs and glens of the Highlands.

Day 6: Loch Lomond and Glasgow
Your first stop is the World War II Commando Memorial near Fort William, where you’ll get views of the majestic Ben Nevis. Continue south through the Glen of Weeping, honouring the MacDonald clansmen who lost their lives for their allegiance. Upon reaching Glasgow, enjoy an orientation tour highlighting the Cathedral and the grand George Square. You’ll also visit the Necropolis, where you’ll gain insights into this significant 19th-century burial site.

Day 7: Through the Lake District to Liverpool
Cross into England and connect with locals at Christine's Cumbrian farm for a special Be My Guest lunch. Then, journey through the picturesque Lake District, a landscape that has inspired poets and artists for centuries. Visit Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, before arriving in Liverpool, the home of the legendary Beatles.

Day 8: Ferry to Dublin
Begin your day in Chester, exploring the half-timbered Tudor Rows, before heading to Holyhead in North Wales to catch the ferry across the Irish Sea to Dublin.

Day 9: Experience Dublin’s Iconic Sights

Explore the charming fishing village of Polperro with its narrow streets and picturesque harbor, then take a scenic drive through Dartmoor, keeping an eye out for wild ponies.
