Day 1 Dunedin – Otago Peninsula
Collect your rental car and drive to the Otago Peninsula, an area rich with wildlife, beautiful gardens, spectacular coastline, and the iconic and romantic Larnach Castle. Yellow Penguin guided tour. Overnight at Larnach Castle with access to the castle and gardens plus a memorable dinner in the Castle. Overnight accommodation at Larnach Castle. D


Day 2 Otago Peninsula - Catlins Coast
South through Balclutha to The Catlins. The coast is a place where time has stood still. Some of the world ‘s rarest marine animals are found here – three penguin species, Hooker’s Sea Lions, Hector’s Dolphins, Elephant Seals, NZ Fur Seals, and many species of seabirds. Enroute highlights include Nugget Point Lighthouse, Surat Bay, Florence Hill Lookout, and Cathedral Caves. Overnight accommodation at Mohua Park Eco Cottage. B, D


Day 3 Catlins Coast - Invercargill - Stewart Island
Make your way out of The Catlins via Porpoise Bay and Curio Bay to Slope Point the southernmost point of the South Island and Waipapa Point famous for its lighthouse and bent over trees shaped by the wind, enroute to Invercargill Airport. Board your scenic flight to Stewart Island. Evening guided kiwi spotting excursion. Overnight accommodation on Stewart Island. B


Day 4 Stewart Island
Short water taxi ride to Ulva Island – the southern-most bird sanctuary in the world. Half day walk/Bird watching discovering the unique, rare and endangered birds and plants at close quarters. Have your camera at the ready as you amble amongst a beautiful botanical forested garden alive with birdsong. Overnight accommodation on Stewart Island. B


Day 5 Stewart Island
Transfer & Walk excursion on Rakiura Track: The Port William coastal track, part of the Rakiura Great Walk, is one of the island’s most popular half day walks. After a short cruise along the stunning coastline including historical commentary, get dropped off at the Port William wharf. Discover the former Maori Beach sawmill settlement on the 3-hour hike through the varied Rakiura National Park forest to Lee Bay. Overnight accommodation on Stewart Island. B


Day 6 Stewart Island - Bluff – Invercargill
Shuttle transfer to Ferry terminal. Farewell Stewart Island - crossing Foveaux Strait by ferry to Bluff. Connect with your coach transfer to Invercargill. B
