Sponsoring Long Drive Golf Competitior - Dan Crook
22 August 2017
Long Drive Golf is a sport growing in popularity.
Galaxy Travel is proud to be sponsoring Dan Crook - Captain of the first ever New Zealand team.
They will make their way to Sydney to take on Australia at the Trans-Tasman Clash at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club on the 15th December for the first ever team event.

As the name suggests, Long Drive is a sport where the winner is the person or team who can hit a golf ball the longest distance on the day and it must stay within the grid which is only 38m wide.
Long Drivers are going to the public to help choose their team name - this will happen soon.
The reason this sport has grown exponentially in the past 5 years is that it's become a spectator sport. We all know how hard it is to hit it long and straight and well.... the world's best have perfected it.
Most ameteur golfers want to go to a driving range and hit it as hard and as far as possible. This sport allows that to happen.
The New Zealand long drivers first team have been named and their handprints will be set in concrete at Remuera Golf Club in November.

Coming up IGANZ (International Golf Associates New Zealand) have two Kiwi's heading to the states to compete at the pinnacle event for Long Drive. The World Champs are being held on the 5th and 6th of September at the Winstar Casino and Resort Oklahoma.

Then back home in NZ there is an International Invitational at Remuera Golf club on the 4th and 5th November, this competition will boast 16 of the world's best.
Currently NZ has the ladies world record holder coming from our shores. Phillis Meti broke the world record a few weeks ago in Denver USA. We are putting New Zealand Long Drivers on the world map that is for sure.
