Bali Bali Bali!

Client feedback from a trip to beautiful Bali:

Everything went really well with your organisation. Was met no problems at the airport and transported to the hotel. The hotel is a perfect location, with gorgeous grounds, great pools, lovely staff and a pretty good buffet breakfast. I think we were in the oldest part which certainly need to have their bathrooms updated but really no complaints – plenty of hot water and good pressure.

I took up your suggestions and we went shopping in Seminak and had a great lunch and cocktails at Ku de ta. I really enjoyed the market shopping just round from our hotel along Double Six. Also went into Kuta for the better rip off watches at the two shops - Euro Watches and Bagus Watches. They were really good quality (unlike the cheap ones in the market) and still only between $35 and $70 NZ$. We also went to the Discovery Shopping Mall in Kuta which was fabulous shopping in the large department store which had really cheap bags, shoes, jewellery etc.

On the cultural/activity side we had two amazing days with a personal driver and tour guide. We went to the Bali Safari Park for the day which was well worth the visit. Combination of a safari park where you are driven around in an enclosed vehicle to see all the usual animals (tigers, lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants etc) in natural settings and then a zoo type environment where you can wonder around under your own steam and get up close and personal with the animals, go for rides on elephants and camels, and take in a couple of shows – which were very entertaining and well done. A very special moment was getting the opportunity to cuddle an Orangutan and pat a tiger cub. We happily spent the whole day there and it only cost us $450K for our driver for the day.

We also had a full day with our driver and a tour guide who took us out into the villages, rice paddies, the “mother temple” at Basikh which is the highest sitting and largest temple in Bali. We travelled a huge amount of ground and our guide was awesome. He gave us so much background on the history, culture and local ways. The whole day only cost us $550K for the two of them.

We had some amazing meals and drank a huge amount of cocktails – quite often two for the price of one which was fatal. The beach was amazing and we swam several times a day. All in all a perfect holiday.

Thanks so much Fortis Travel for your organisation!
