Carmen in Sydney
Carmen was a surreal success.
The weather 30 degrees when we water taxied across to Potts Point where they had set up a magnificent forward sloped stage in the water. We were seated (world cup like seating with the ping up seats (my only complaint that bike pants or cushion needed !!) on front of the walkway around the harbour facing the opera house and bridge, magnificent setting.
Dinner was excellent silver service and wine in Carmen designed lounge overlooking this. People below sitting on tables and chairs on walkway with wine and excellent variety of food to buy.
Two cranes straddled the stage, winching in a tank, truck, shipping container and even the toreador. Spectacular fireworks, flamboyant costumes and choreography made it a resounding success.
Thought the whole evening very well done.
