We have a fab group. Flight over was good but long (via L.A - horrible! haha), yesterday we went to Granville Island by a little boat to the mostly foodie markets and got to try quite a bit of things on our tour - donuts, chocolate, soup, salami..., also did a hotel inspection. Did a walking tour of Gastown & Chinatown in Vancouver (in the rain) & was supposed to cycle Stanley Park but was pouring, (and I mean pouring - it hailed later!) so we skipped that and walked back to our hotel in the rain with soaking socks and shoes for 15 mins. Great night last night, got to go aboard the Rocky Mountaineer train for a look and dinner. They go to the Rockies, Whistler etc so a real treat to see it and such nice food.

Today was a big but fun day. This morning we went up Grouse Mountain - very high, and alot of snow. Season usually finished but unusually cold for this time of the year. Tulips still out too and should be finished April sometime. We went snow shoeing on the mountain - put things on our feet so could walk in the snow, very cool and a highlight for most. Big gondola to and from - 8 mins each way, very fast.

Then went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, I thought just a bridge but it’s actually more than that with a shop, a walking area and some tree top bridges.

Then to Horseshoe Bay for a sea safari - trip out on a ‘zodiac’, large inflatable boat, saw lots of seals but rest just going along in water. Had dinner at a restaurant there - and a floatplane ride (20 mins) back to Vancouver, so that was pretty cool - was just like being in a real plane including take off and landing and some awesome views of Canada.

Everyone is so friendly here and the city is so lovely, Airport is just beautiful in Vancouver, so new and modern and doesn’t feel like airport.

Tonight is our 3rd night at Sheraton Wall Centre Vancouver, so have just been for a drink round the corner as other nights just crashed. We are 5 hours ahead of you but the day before. So now nearly 10pm Sunday.

Tomorrow we go on the ferry across to Vancouver Island to Victoria, having high tea at an old hotel then the beautiful Butchart Gardens.

Should be more leisurely than today!
