The markets motif of fruit and foliage can still be seen in the terra cotta decorative relief in the spandrels of the arches. The Lyric Theatre is a superb concert venue in the Star City Complex, located in the Darling Harbour region. The theatre first opened in September 1997 with its first act being Michael Crawford and has since then hosted many well known musicals and entertainers.

It became the longest running musical ever to play at the London Palladium, beating Oliver! and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
