Villa 25VillaIowana

As a repeat visitor to Vanuatu, I wanted something a little more exclusive and different for this holiday and I set my sights on Villa 25

Located just 5 minutes from Port Vila in a gated community at Dream Cove (the north west side of the main harbour into Port Vila), Villa 25 consisted of just three luxury 2 bedroom villas and a gorgeous Pacific Style Iowana (gathering place).

The villas are decorated to the highest standard and fully self contained.  The large lounge/kitchen opens out onto a private patio and magical views of the sparkling sea.  There are two large and airy bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom with all the creature comforts you could possibly want or need.

If you would like to "mingle" with the other guests, the Iowana is situated beside the pool and has a large communal kitchen equipped with every possible kitchen utensil and gadget and a large dining room and lounge.  There is a large selection of "left over" goodies from previous guests that you can use to help you make that magical dish and of course you undoubtedly end up adding your own "left overs" to this stock when you buy something from the supermarket and only use a spoonful of it.

The Iowana also has a room filled with DVDs, games, IPod Docking Station, Radio, Fridge stocked with beer and wine for you to purchase, books, suntan lotion and the list goes on and on.

Located on a private coral beach the snorkelling offshore is fantastic.  In fact the local "snorkelling day trip" boat stops just 100 metres down the beach as it is one of the best spots within the harbour to see the multitude of beautiful marine life.   Snorkelling equipment, kayaks and a paddle board were all available for use at any time of the day.

We were fortunate enough to be the only guests during our stay, so we had the whole place to ourselves and really made the most of the luxury and seclusion.   The thing I really loved about Villa 25 was the ability to just get on with it yourself and not have to bother too much with resort staff and rules.  It very much felt like being on a kiwi holiday at a bach but a whole lot warmer and much more luxurious than the bachs I ever stayed in.

There is a chef who will come in and cook for you if you prefer, an on sight manager with all the local knowledge who will assist with anything you need, and getting to and from Port Vila and around Vanuatu was easy with one of the dedicated taxi/minibus driver - Willie, you are fantastic !!

We dined out, ate in, swam in the sea, swam in the pool, read in the sun, read in the Iowana in the shade, snorkelled, kayaked, walked, watched movies, listened to music, slept in the deck chairs and the couches during the day and pretty much had the best relaxing holiday of all time.

Villa 25 is definitely worth a visit and would be fantastic for a small group or family who wants the place to themselves and anyone wanting something different from the large resort atmosphere.
