Day 1. Arrive Prague Fly into Prague, a city where stone bridges, Gothic cathedrals and golden towers are overseen by a commanding castle. On arrival be transferred to your hotel. Tonight, get to know your fellow travellers at a Welcome Reception. Three Nights, Prague, Grandior Hotel

Day 2. Prague Today join a local guide to explore Prague’s Old Town. Visit the impressive St Vitus Cathedral, which is considered to be the largest in the world. Wander across Charles Bridge, a Czech landmark that straddles the beautiful Vltava River. Finally, stop for some time to browse through the wooden stalls in Prague’s Old Market Square. Join your Tour Director on your dedicated Hop-On Hop Off coach to explore more of Prague on your own terms. B

Day 3. Prague Having become familiar with the layout of Prague, enjoy today as you please. Perhaps visit a rooftop bar for superb views over stunning cathedrals and churches with a local beer in hand. Optional touring today includes a tour of Terezín or a lively traditional Czech folklore dinner and show. B

Day 4. Prague, Budapest, Embark Ship Bid farewell to Prague and continue south, where you will travel through an enchanting rural region steeped in wine making tradition. Continue through Slovakia and arrive in Budapest, Hungary. Board your Travelmarvel river ship and later this evening, enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Reception. Afterwards, set off on a twilight cruise through the glittering heart of Budapest, passing under the Chain Bridge and past Parliament building, lit up and sparkling while Buda Castle and the Fisherman’s Bastion shimmer in the distance. 14 Nights, aboard your premium Travelmarvel river ship BD

Day 5. Budapest Awake to views of one of the Danube’s most enchanting cities this morning. Disembark and learn the vibrant history of Budapest as your local guide takes you to a host of impressive sights such as Matthias Church, the Fisherman’s Bastion, Heroes’ Square and Buda Castle. Back on board this evening, enjoy a delightful Gala Dinner while you cruise. BLD

Day 6. Vienna Embrace the elegance of Vienna as you drive around the Ringstrasse, taking in some of the city’s most famous buildings – the Vienna State Opera House, the Museum of Fine Arts and more. On arrival in the city centre, a walking tour will provide an insider’s view of sights such as St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Graben, Hofburg Palace and the Albertina. This evening, perhaps enjoy an optional concert featuring music from Mozart to The Sound of Music. BLD Insider Experience Visit the famous Naschmarkt and browse the stalls, sampling local delights.

Day 7. Vienna With the day at leisure, perhaps explore the Hofburg area or wander along Kärntnerstrasse, the city’s famous shopping strip. Otherwise, embark on an optional excursion, to Schönbrunn Palace, or head to former soviet Bratislava. BLD

Day 8. Dürnstein, Melk Cruise to the town of Dürnstein and enjoy a stroll past rustic town houses and taverns. Along the way, gaze up to the hilltop ruins of the castle where King Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned. Later, dock in Melk and tour through Melk Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery since 1089. Day 9. Passau This morning after breakfast, cruise to beautiful Passau. Perhaps, join an optional tour to Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic, or visit Salzburg and enjoy the sights from ‘The Sound of Music’. BLD Insider Experience Tonight, enjoy a traditional Bavarian experience on board. Sample delicious local beer and snacks, accompanied by traditional folk music, song and dance.

Day 10. Regensburg Continue along the Danube River to the enchanting town of Regensburg, located in the southern region of the Bavarian Forest. Here, a guided tour along its cobblestone lanes tells of the medieval town’s journey through the ages. Afterwards, wander the historic streets at your own pace. BLD

Day 11. Nuremberg Arrive in Nuremberg, the site of Hitler’s now infamous rallies, which played a pivotal role for the Nazis during World War II. Take a city tour this afternoon, which includes sights such as the Zeppelin Field and Palace of Justice. BLD

Day 12. Bamberg One of the few German cities that wasn’t destroyed during World War II, World Heritage-listed Bamberg beckons your attention this morning. You’ll gain great insight during a locally guided tour of the historic city centre. BLD

Day 13. Würzburg Verdant hills and rich vineyards sit on the edge of Würzburg. Admire its magnificent Baroque palace, the Würzburg Residence and walk through Würzburg Court Garden, with its terraced gardens and serene water basin. Later, perhaps enjoy an optional visit to the medieval town of Rothenburg. BLD

Day 14. Miltenberg Arrive at the beautifully evocative town of Miltenberg. Here, enjoy an Insider Experience then return to your ship and enjoy time at leisure. As the sun sets, watch the glittering lights of medieval towns slip past as you sit down to dinner and cruise through the night. Day 15. Rüdesheim, Rhine Gorge In Rüdesheim, the Winzerexpress mini-train will take you through town to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. As you continue cruising, you will encounter a true holiday highlight – the spectacular Rhine Gorge. Watch in awe as you drift past steep vine-covered slopes dotted with ancient castles and strongholds. Enjoy dinner on board tonight, as your journey continues late into the evening. BLD

Day 16. Cologne, Brühl Disembark your ship in Cologne and drive to the town of Brühl, where you will enjoy an Insider Experience. Later, return to Cologne and enjoy some time at leisure. BLD Insider Experience Step back in time during a visit to the World Heritage-listed Augustusburg Castle, the lavish residences of archbishop-elector Clemens August. On a tour of the castle, learn stories of its infamous former resident and enjoy a walk through its gardens between the lodge and the castle.

Day 17. Amsterdam Amsterdam’s network of canals lends the city its nickname, ‘Venice of the North’. Dock in the city’s heart and board a glass-top boat to discover the city’s waterside façades, watching the bicycle-loving locals ride along as you drift by. Back on land, enjoy free time to explore, before a Captain’s Farewell Dinner back on board. BLD

Day 18. Disembark Ship, Amsterdam, Paris After breakfast this morning, disembark your ship in Amsterdam, and traverse the beautiful landscapes of the Netherlands, Belgium and northern France and say ‘bonjour’ to spectacular Paris. Representing the essence of France, this is a brilliant city in which to conclude your European journey. Arrive at your stunning hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Perhaps get your bearings by taking a twilight stroll before sitting down to a delicious meal in one of Paris’ famous restaurants. Three Nights, Paris, Les Jardins du Marais B

Day 19. Paris This morning, fling open the door to some of Paris’ best-loved sights on a guided city tour. Feel the excitement of one of the world’s most iconic streets, the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, and marvel at the impressive Arc de Triomphe. This afternoon, perhaps relax in front of the Eiffel Tower at Champs de Mars park, or discover a cosy cafe to sample some of France’s famously rich food. With a dedicated Hop-On Hop-Off service escorted by your Tour Director you can easily make your way around Paris, with the flexibility of spending as much or little time at each of the iconic attractions as you wish. Day 20. Paris Today, you’re bound to fall head over heels for the ‘City of Love’ during a full day at leisure. Will you enjoy a whirlwind romance with the bohemian fervour of the Latin Quarter? Or cement an enduring devotion to the art of the Louvre Museum? Perhaps you’ll become enamoured with the Seine River, as you take a stroll along its park-lined banks towards the legendary Gothic cathedral, Notre Dame. You may even like to take an optional tour to Montmartre and the Basilica of Sacre Coeur followed by a Seine River cruise. Tonight, you also have the opportunity to enjoy an optional evening of colourful cabaret and dinner at the iconic Moulin Rouge. B

Day 21. Depart Paris Say ‘au revoir’ to Paris as your adventure comes to an end this morning. After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the airport for your onward flight. B
