Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Easter Island

You’ll be met on arrival on Easter Island and transferred to your hotel. Later, select and plan your chosen activities with our team, before dinner tonight. A sample of these activities are detailed below, for a taste of what lies in store.

Day 2: Ahu Akivi, Orongo

Head to the sacred location of Ahu Akivi and visit the seven Moai statues. It’s said these statues represent explorers sent by Polynesian King Hutu Matu’a. Continue to the Rano Kao volcano, where a deep crater of lush vegetation contains a large freshwater lake. After, explore Orongo and Ahu Vinapu, where Inca masonry is shown through interesting architecture.

Day 3: Rano Raraku, Anakena

This morning, travel southeast to the extinct volcano of Poike, and marvel at the coastline of black volcanic rock. Take a drive to Vaihu where you’ll learn how locals honour death through celebration. Here, absorb the beauty of a Paina (a ceremonial stone circle) and eight fallen Moais. Afterwards, set out to the volcanic crater of Ranu Raraku. Located on the lower slopes of Terevaka, this quarry supplied the stone for about 95 percent of the island’s sculptures. Incomplete statues surround the area and are remarkable for their numbers, inaccessibility and size. Touring continues as you travel to Ahu Tongarik, home to the largest ahu on the island and the white coral sand beach of Anakena.

Day 4: Depart Easter Island

Be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
