From Budapest to Prague, travel back through centuries as you walk along cobblestoned streets through grand cities and historic towns decorated with twinkling Christmas trees and lined with wooden huts gleaming with handcrafted treasures. Iconic Christmas markets are plentiful and are on full display.

Itinerary


Day 1: Arrive Budapest

Arrive in Budapest and board your ship.

Day 2: Budapest

Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Budapest or alternatively, hike up to Castle Hill for breathtaking views of the city. Later enjoy time at leisure to perhaps visit the Christmas markets.

Day 3: Vienna

The ‘City of Waltzes’ offers a treasure trove of gems just waiting to be discovered on your city tour. See the majestic Opera House and the former Imperial Palace of the Habsburgs before concluding in Vienna’s historic city centre. Afterwards enjoy time at the Town Hall Christmas Markets, which present a glittering Christmas experience.

Alternatively, enjoy a guided bike along the Danube River. During the afternoon, visit the Schönbrunn Palace with its giant sparkling Christmas tree.

Day 4: Melk

Take a tour of Melk Abbey, or enjoy a guided bike tour through the Wachau Valley.

Day 5: Passau

Cruise to the city of Passau, where you may choose to enjoy a walking tour around the historic city and a visit to its Christmas markets, enjoy a guided bike ride along the Danube or embark on an excursion to Salzburg to visit its Christmas markets and Hellbrunn Palace.

Day 6: Regensburg

Arrive in Regensburg and enjoy a walking tour that includes the Old Town Christmas market. Alternatively, sample local delights during a Bavarian culinary tour or join a guided bike ride to the base of Walhalla. Later in the day, you’ll be treated to one of Bavaria’s most beautiful and romantic Christmas markets at Thurn and Taxis, where you can watch artisans make their unique arts and crafts.

Day 7: Nuremberg

Embark on a city tour of Nuremberg. Later, you can visit Nuremberg’s Christkindlesmarkt, one of the world’s largest and most famous Christmas markets.

Day 8: Nuremberg, Disembark Ship, Prague

This morning travel by coach from Nuremberg to Prague. Arrive in Prague and check in to your hotel.

Day 9: Prague

Discover Prague and its magical church spires on a city tour or a hike to Prague Castle. Later in the day, you will have free time to explore Prague’s renowned Christmas markets in the Old Town Square.

Day 10: Prague

Enjoy a Czech beer tasting before having the rest of the day at leisure to further explore.

Day 11: Depart Prague

Be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
