We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Travel Consultant to join our dynamic and high-performing team at World Travellers - Elliott Travel, Gisborne. 

It’s an exciting time to be part of the industry where experienced Travel Agents can clearly demonstrate their value to customers who are eager to explore the world again.  We have an inviting office in the heart of Gisborne city centre, where customers enjoy coming from all over the district to meet face-to-face with our Travel Designers.

As a Travel Designer, you will be responsible for creating and delivering tailor-made itineraries for our clients. We are looking for someone with proven sales experience in the travel industry, high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and with a commitment to customer service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working within our Travelport system to make airline reservations. 
  • Dealing with clients face to face, via telephone and through email enquires.
  • Preparing tailor-made itineraries.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers in all sectors
  • Overseeing all financial transactions within a booking, including invoicing, ticketing, margins, credits, deposits, payments and cancellations.
  • Work autonomously while being part of a team.

About You:

  • Minimum 2 years of Retail Travel experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of GDS and CRM Systems and Microsoft Applications.
  • A motivated sales person with a dynamic and friendly personality.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about travel.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and task management skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The legal right to work in New Zealand.
