Day One - Porto
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to relax and explore the vibrant streets of Porto.
Day Two - Porto
This morning join your guide for a panoramic view of Porto, declared a UNESCO Heritage site. Explore charming cobbled streets and beautiful Baroque churches, including the architecturally impressive church of Sao Francisco. Visit the Stock Exchange Palace and its incredible granite work and magnificent neo-Arabic influences. Make a stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before boarding a river boat where you will visit local wineries and enjoy wine tasting.
Day Three - Porto > Douro Valley
After breakfast, head north into the Douro Valley. This region has been producing wine for more than 2000 years, among which is the world famous Porto wine. Stop for a traditional lunch and wine tasting. Check into your hotel, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
Day Four - Douro Valley
Spend a full day exploring the hills and vineyards of the Douro Valley and tasting wines at some of the region’s best producers. Join a shared Rabelo boat, a traditional Portuguese wooden cargo boat, and cruise the Douro River, enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.
Day Five - Douro Valley > Sintra
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the royal village of Sintra. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day Six - Sintra
This morning join your guide for a tour of Sintra. As you stroll Sintra’s opulent buildings and charming streets you will feel an air of enchantment. You will have the opportunity to get to know the Pena Palace, its vibrant colours, intricate detailing, and panoramic views create a truly magical experience.
Day Seven - Sintra > Lisbon
Drive to Lisbon and check in to your hotel before joining a walking tour where you will explore the charming Belem Tower – officially the Tower of Saint Vincent, built in 1520 to defend the Tagus River bank and as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for Portuguese explorers. Wander the streets of central Lisbon, tasting local delicacies along the way.
NB: Belem Tower is closed to the public on Mondays.
Day Eight - Lisbon
Today you will visit a local market before joining a fish cooking class (tour available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays). Later join a relaxing sunset river cruise on the Tagus River and experience the best views of the city.
Day Nine - Lisbon > Evora > Monsaraz
Transfer to Alentejo region known as the Tuscany of Portugal for its comely lined olive groves and stunning scenery. Enjoy a shared tour through the vineyards and tasting of some of the regional wine specialties. Later stop at Evora, popular for its Roman ruins, gothic cathedral and Moorish alleyways.
Days Ten & Eleven -Monsaraz
Enjoy the next two days at leisure. You can stroll through the area, visit local vineyards, try stargazing in the observatory, relax with a spa treatment or simply enjoy the facilities of your lovely accommodation.
Day Twelve - Monsaraz > Lisbon
After breakfast, transfer to Lisbon airport where arrangements end.
