Why we love it
Day 1: Victoria Falls - Imbabala Safari Lodge
Upon arrival at Victoria Falls Airport you will be met and transferred to Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge. Imbabala is a small unpretentious safari lodge offering a true ‘African Safari Experience’ on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. (D)
Day 2: Imbabala Safari Lodge
Enjoy an early morning game drive. Imbabala offers some of the most amazing game viewing and bird watching in the region, in the seclusion of a private national park concession. The 2023 hectare concession has 14 kilometres of private Zambezi river frontage and borders the Chobe Forest Reserve, which is renowned for its massive elephant population. Enjoy afternoon high tea before departing on a river safari where you will travel upstream and take a photo at the convergence of four countries: Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia. (B)(L)(D)
Day 3: Imbabala Safari Lodge - Zambezi River
Early morning game drive and brunch at Imbabala before transferring into Victoria Falls Town for a tour of the Falls. Lunch will be at The Lookout Café before departing Victoria Falls for your Upper Zambezi Canoeing Safari. After a game drive through the Zambezi National Park, you will arrive at your riverside camp. The guide will give a thorough briefing, which will cover conditions of the river and rapids, canoeing instruction, safety and general information. Tonight is spent camping on the banks of the Zambezi River, in comfortable preerected tents.
Day 4: Zambezi River
A full English breakfast is served in the morning before an hour game drive upstream to the put-in point. Today is spent canoeing downstream, covering around 18 kilometres, running small grade one and two rapids, exploring channels and bird and game viewing. This day includes the Sansimba Rapids. A picnic lunch is served on the mainland or an island.
Day 5: Zambezi River - Victoria Falls
After a delightful English breakfast board your canoe and spend the day canoeing another 18 kilometres downstream to the mighty Victoria Falls. Rapids canoed today include the Kandahar Rapids. The scenery, channels and the rapids on both days are very different. Your canoe safari ends a short distance from Victoria Falls where you will be met and transferred to The Elephant Camp in the late afternoon where you will enjoy an elephant interaction. (B)(L)(D)
